1st Line Windows Support & Field Engineer

This position is for a Windows support helpdesk with regular field call-outs to local customers. This job requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus. This role requires customer site visits hence you will need a full UK driving license and your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Dealing with customers over the phone, email and remote desktop
  • Doing call-outs to local customers to support hardware and software on site
  • Working from a ticketing system and accurately logging all work and support queries
  • Maintaining, configuring and troubleshooting Windows servers and Desktop
  • Supporting Windows Server and Desktop
  • Varying project work

Essential
APPLICANTS WITH LESS THAN 1YR WINDOWS HELPDESK EXPERIENCE WILL BE REJECTED

  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Must have experience of working in a help-desk environment
  • Experience of supporting Windows Desktop and Sever
  • Must be experienced with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Be able to get on well with customers over the phone
  • Work in a results-driven environment where time is key
  • Advanced Windows Desktop knowledge
  • Be able to take direction and follow procedures
  • Highly-motivated – can show initiative and results

  • Ability to explain technical issues in easy to understand terms over the phone and in writing
  • Ability to confidently handle a range of technical support issues, with excellent phone manner
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Detailed Windows experience
