Responsibilities
- Dealing with customers over the phone, email and remote desktop
- Working from a ticketing system and accurately logging all work and support queries
- Working though set support tasks via procedures
- Maintaining and troubleshooting Linux servers
- Linux server administration via SSH
- Bash scripting
- OS/Application/Server debugging and problem solving
- Develop & document new solutions for different customers
- Analyze issues & create solutions for HW & SW problems
- Varying project work
Essential
- Must be a fast learner. Able to pick up new skills and work methods quickly.
- Work in a results-driven environment where time is key
- Intermediate to Advanced Linux commandline knowledge
- Knowledge of a scripting language such as bash, perl, php or python
- Experience with linux server services and related protocols such as DHCP, Postfix, Apache, MySQL, IMAP, SMTP
- Be able to take direction and follow procedures
You will also have
- Ability to confidently handle a range of Linux technical support issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good technical troubleshooting skills
Desirable
- Degree in Computer Science or related subject
- Experience with RedHat, Debian or derivatives
